Maintaining his concentration was getting harder and harder by the minute as the goal was so painfully close he could practically taste it. The spirit form wavered slightly and he fought to keep his antsy feelings under control. If he didn't, he was going to botch this whole deal. She would probably get fully creeped out by the place, more than she already was and he really couldn't blame her, and would leave if he went missing on her.
"You okay there?" The Saiyajin wasn't concerned genuinely but feigning it would simply look good on his part. Besides he knew how sensitive hearing went.
Unaware of the close call in her almost leaving, Raditz floated slowly down the hall. He tried to channel some manner of illumination but was having little success with it. It wasn't like he needed it but she probably did. He glanced at her, "You can make a small ball of ki for some light if you need...I can see just fine myself, so I don't know about you."
His dark eyes roamed everywhere in the dark, musty metal hall. Turles had given him only the slightest details. It was in the lab. Well, la-dee-fucking-da, but where was that? He drifted over to every doorway and eyed the identification panels in Saiya-go. The hall was curving around, giving him a good idea as to the general shape of the ship. He wracked his brain for how most of the ships adapted from the old Acrosian style went. Medical facilities were usually...on the left side? Or was it right? 'Fuck me...' He thought to himself anxiously, as if he knew what side they were on to start with, 'Where-Oh, here we go!'
"I think this is it..." After studying the scrawl on the panel, he went through the door for a better look. Yes, this was definitely a lab...in some shitty condition.
Water, at least he hoped it was water, had to be at least a foot high in the room. Beakers and bottles were broken everywhere. Glass shielded tanks that once probably held specimens if not fossils were shattered. He had no doubt the room probably stunk to hell and back, he was glad to avoid that stink for now at least. There were two rejuvination tanks to the far right that had seen better days but he wouldn't doubt they could still function somehow. To the left...He turned his head and saw the massive cylindrical tank that his uncle had described. "In here!" He called loudly as he moved to the tank they were looking for.
The top was sloped down and he saw the clasps that held it shut as well as the handle for pulling it open. There was a dusted over viewing sliver of viewing window which at first he tried to look through but snorted and poked his head in. He wasn't sure if there was enough extract actually, it looked less than half full. Coming back out, he looked around the control panel, finding all the compartments Turles had told him had a plethora of samples inside. More seeds for Trees, his hair undoubtedly and perhaps other oddities. Raditz breathed a tired sigh. This was it...

"I'm fine! It just feels... really weird, you know?" Pepper looked to the dimly glowing form, blinking a few times. Luckily, her eyes were beginning to adjust. A smile touched her lips.
"I'll be okay. I used to play in the desert, and that gets really dark at night, especially when it's cloudy and you don't have starlight." Sure it had been over ten years, but she still tended to train at night. She had heard some of the elders of colony, and some of the people of Earth complain about the lack of a 'moon', but she really didn't know what that was. "Thanks, though. As soon as we get you back to life, I'll get you a steak bone to chew on! Or maybe the whole steak!
There was something in the air that was starting to reek. Pepper grimaced and kept moving after the tiny glowing form. The spine in her hand, which she had set down then picked back up when she had to pry open the doors, made her feel like she was in some weird ghost novel...
After what felt like forever of reading the strangely-written panels, Radish ducked through a door. She blinked, going to the door.
It smells so bad... She thought to herself, getting a nod of agreement and a snort from Kakiri.
As soon as she had the okay, she set the spine down and began to pry the doors open. Unlike last time, however, a flood of water washed out to hit her, and an appalling stench rose in the air. Her nose wasn't overly sensitive, but it was all she could do not to gag as she snatched the spine back up. Rotting vegetation, mold, and gaian knew what else...
"Ugh!" Never was she more grateful for boots as she stepped into that room! Holding her arm to her nose to try to block out the stench, her eyes watering, she stepped into the damp room and looked for Radish, seeing him by some cabinets or compartments or something, and a large tank.
"Is this it?" She asked, lowering her arm and regretting it. "What do I need to do?" Oh how she would be glad to get out of here....! It felt like a nightmare!

With his back to her, his mouth broke into a humongous grin as he heard her open the door and the water flood out a little. Finally!
Calming himself, he forced himself to give her a sympathetic look. He had figured it smelled to high heaven and soon he'd have the displeasure to smell it too. But that was something he was prepared to endure in order to be alive once more. Hell, there was a lot he would be willing to endure at the moment.
"Okay, we just have to undo the latches, open the top of the tank and you chuck the spine in. From what I learned, the extract will do the majority of the work. If you want, after throwing it in you can get out of the room and away from the stink." Actually, part of that was an ill attempt to get rid of her. But considering the odd little promise he gave her, she would not be leaving at any point soon. Perhaps that would work in his favor though. She might know where to find Kakarot or maybe even the prince. Besides, so far, she was not the worst person he had been around so she was a bit of a fresh breath of air.
He started to bounce around, showing her he was quite excited. "The latches are pretty easy. Just pinch those parts in the middle and lift the back end, then the whole thing will come up." When she opened the tank, she would be given some minor relief from the stench of the room as the extract would have almost a fruity-earthy scent to it. Well, it would either be a relief or a horrible mixture with the rot around her.
Even as he waited for the deed to be done, he had taken another look over the lab. There was quite a bit he would be able to salvage inside. He didn't see where any armor was, but there was bound to be something in Turles's quarters.

There was a bit of debris floating around in the water, and enough rotting vegetation to make her step carefully, avoiding some of it. She wasn't fastidious, not at all, but even she had her limits. And it didn't even smell like the healthy type of rotting that gave the earth new soil. It smelled... poisonous. Festering.
As she listened to him, his suggestion almost made sense. She could get away from the stink, and from the creepy sensations. But that would mean leaving him behind. And besides, how would he get out of the tank if he was just a little puppy?
"I'll stay. I'm a big girl. I can handle the stink. Besides. How's a puppy, no matter how big you are, gonna get outta a tank?" She teased him, unaware of the irony of that as she looked around. Setting the spine on a semi-clean surface, she turned, squinting in the faint light to try to see the latches. In the end, she finally just had to use her fingers to find what he described. It took a few tries, but she finally pried one, then the rest of the latches up. It took a bit of muscle to open up the tank, as it had been closed for so long...
When she opened it though, it was a pleasant surprise. The earthy scent washed out over her, causing her to gasp before she inhaled deeply, feeling some of the tension leaving her. It was a welcome relief, truth be told... She knew the scent would mix horribly in a moment or two and she'd probably retch for real. But for now, she enjoyed it. Glancing down in the tank, she looked around before reaching over and grabbing the spine.
"Well.. here goes!"
And with that, she tossed the spine in.

Almost, he almost laughed at that. How was he supposed to...Yeah, she would be in for a rude awakening in a little bit, though he wasn't sure how fast the extract worked. Instead he shook his head at her with an amused grin as he watched her undo the latches and open the tank. It seemed as if the smell from inside had been welcome, so he was glad to know that his return to life would not be soured by some foul smell.
Once the spine was tossed it, it made a noisy plop, showing the extract was not that watery. Still, the weight of the Saiyajin bone caused it to slowly submerge in the dark lavender goo. It sunk to the bottom, generating a few bubbles on it's descent and as it sat there, little by little bit, new bone and tendon started to form, which would soon be followed by organs and muscle. Eventually the whole body would be fabricated by the extract and regrown.
Raditz gave a loud whoop and now it was time to play the waiting game.
An hour had dragged along and by that time, Raditz started to feel something. The small wolf was slowly fading out of sight while down in Hell, his actual form was doing very much the same thing. If anyone was observing down there, they'd certainly take note. In the tank, something had started to expand and grow in the goo. Something that was, in comparison to the girl, quite massive and started to squirm.
If Pepper were unfortunate enough to still be looking in, she would get the scare of her life as the freshly reborn Saiyajin suddenly jerked up shakily, gasping for air and trying to shake the muck off his head. Thankfully the tank was deep enough that should the lid slam down, he wouldn't suffer a major head injury. He sat there on all four, feeling somewhat cramped and shook his head which he held down so the goo would slide off. Unless she caught sight of his face, she would not yet realize he was no wolf.
"EUGH...!! That is some of the most foul tasting shit I have ever had the displeasure to taste...! Eug-Ew!" Raditz scowled, trying to wipe it off his tongue and out of his eyes, but his hands were covered in the sticky muck. Getting a hold of himself, he wiped some of it off of himself before he would try climbing out. He had to save what he could for later on after all.

Wow, that was a.... pleasant sound.
Pepper wasn't exactly sure what she had been expecting, but it wasn't the wait. After a little bit, she had set the lid down and paced for a bit, wrinkling her nose at the scent. She was getting used to it, but it was still nasty. Then, she went back to the tank and propped the lid open again, watching the liquid.
Time passed again, and found her with her arms folded on the edge of the tank, her chin resting on her arms, and the tank lid resting on her head. She was bored, fidgety, and really hungry. An image of the casserole Vegeta had been eating rose in her mind, and she sighed softly, her stomache growling. Part of her wondered how late it was. If she was too late getting back, her ass would be in for a whooping...
Movement caused her to blink and look down. When had the level of the goo risen that much? Wait. That was a dark shape... Bringing her hand up, she lifted the lid up a bit, leaning over the edge to peer into tank. That... was a big shape.
I don't think that's a- Kakiri never got to finish the sentence. A dark form plunged out of the goo. A shriek escaped her as she jumped back in surprise, slipping and falling on her ass. Her heart was thudding in her chest as she stared at the tank. Then, Kakiri began to laugh in her mind.
You are such a mor- Both of them were silenced by the voice that rang out from the tank.
THAT WAS NOT THE VOICE OF A FUCKING WOLF!

"Got most of that shit off..." Raditz had been way too busy slapping goo off to pay attention to her shrieking and falling over. His ears rang a little when the lid had slammed shut though. Glowering up at the closed lid, he started to stand up on his unsteady legs and pushed up on the metal.
The lid flipped back in full and a towering, long haired and muscular humanoid stood up through the opening. His face scrunched up as his strong sense of smell took in the aroma of the room and he gagged a little. "Ugh, you were right...That is just...Eugh!" The maned Saiyajin swallowed a few times, his eyes watering as he tried to avoid getting sick. Wow. That was worse than tasting the extract.
Breathing through his mouth and closing off his nostrils, Raditz floated out of the tank with a few more shakes of his feet and tail before he came to float before the tank. There was no way he was walking in that shit barefoot, even if most of it had seeped out into the hallway. Now that he was out, he flared a bright aura of blue hued ki in order to dry himself off and he looked himself over.
"By the Moon, my uncle is a fucking genius...I will admit I had my doubts..." He wrapped his arms around himself, looking fricking ecstatic at being alive again. His tail wagged happily before it slid around his waist. Sure, he was in the dark and where it reeked to hell and back with a complete stranger, but he was alive again.
"Mm, and I have you to thank, Ms. Pepper. I apologize for the monkey in wolf's clothing...But I can't tell you how great this is." Raditz grinned broadly, laughing boisterously, "Why, I'd be dancing if I had any less control!"

THAT was Pepper's mind as both she and Kakiri just stared in utter shock and just a bit of dismay. It was quickly becoming obvious that they had been tricked. Well, Pepper had been tricked. Kakiri had been expecting this... Then again, she was a cynical bitch...
Why?! Everything was perfect up until this point! She was going to have a puppy friend, and he was going to have a steak! And now he was-
... A floating man. With a lot of hair. And completely naked. And-
... And now she was blinded. That brief moment had illuminated the entire darkened room, but had also illuminated him. Before she could think to cover her eyes, the glow was gone, and she was left blinking, her face remarkably bright. Something warm fell onto her lip, but she focused more on getting to her feet. Shakily, she stumbled upright, dismayed at the thought of how many showers it would take to smell like a normal per-
... Why did she smell blood?
Before she could think on that too much, he spoke, and she looked back to him. Without real thought, she flicked her hand, spreading her fingers. "What... W-Who are you?! Wha-" Energy flared in her hand as she started to prepare a ki blast, in case he tried to attack her. Unfortunately... it provided light.
She stared for a full second before the blood dripping from her nose got worse. The ki blast dissipated as she clapped her hands over nose and mouth. Her eyes began to water in utter confusion and betrayal, her cheeks reddened from complete embarassment after her first look at a naked man's body, and she turned, stumbling out the door.

Huh.
That was weird.
Raditz blinked, head tilting as she made her comical exit. Why had her nose started to bleed like that? He didn't see anything hit her. For a moment, he wondered, but then it hit him and he looked down.
Oh, right. No clothes.
The Saiyajin grabbed his sides and snickered in amusement. Apparently his well-toned body had been what really sent her running. Regaining his composure, he floated towards the doorway and into the hall. He turned his head, seeing the storage room to his left. Usually armor and other necessities were kept in there. Unsure of where the girl went, he shrugged and turned to the door as he touched down on the cold metal floor. As she had before, he pried the door open with his fingers and stepped into the musty room.
After some rummaging, Raditz had succeeded in finding some adequate Saiyajin armor. It was a similar to what he had before except it lacked shoulder guards and was black with slate colored ribbing and white trim. The gloves and boots he found matched the armor and he pulled on a pair of black battle shorts underneath. Once he had adjusted himself to feel comfortable, he stepped back out of the room and surveyed the hall.
"Pepper?" He arched a brow, wondering if she had run away completely.
With a shake of his maned head, he stepped back into the lab doorway. Now that he was alive...Ah, yes, he had to speak with his...family. He groaned at the idea. He was never a family type of person, so he wasn't sure how well this would go. His stomach growled. Well, first food, then family. He turned back to the hall and started heading towards Turles's quarters, "I need something to eat. Everything here is probably spoiled even though I could purify it. Maybe...The hunting better not suck out there."

Initially, Vegeta had been impressed as he sensed how far Pepper was going and how fast...
Then he frowned.
She had stopped somewhere for a considerable moment and when he was about to refocus on his book as it seemed she was on her way back...The girl was off in another direction. Due to her odd course, he sat up in the grass and arched a brow. It almost seemed like she was heading to Yunzabit Heights, but why?
Wherever it was that she had stopped, she had been there longer than he would have approved. Technically, she was now late. His brows knit together before they arched. A new, rather significant power had sprouted out of no where right there with her.
Okay, what the fuck did Pepper do?
Vegeta slid the bookmark in place as he closed his book and got to his feet, frowning. The power seemed close in comparison to Pepper's. He thought back to her odd behavior earlier. Wuko had said something about coming back from something or somewhere. And she had been unusually eager to take off.
The prince huffed. Technically, he should go out there and see what the hell she was doing...But he was feeling lazy. He would have to dress, tell Bulma he was going somewhere because she was a nosy nag, and he had just started to thoroughly enjoy his sunbathing and the quiet...Thankfully, there was someone close by he could have do it for him and save him the trouble. His ki flared like a little summoning beacon.
"TRUNKS!"

It took her a long moment to try to remember which way she had come from. Actually, as soon as she ran out, she went down the wrong way, and had to skid to a halt, turning and running down the right way. Thankfully, with no power on, the door hadn't closed again. The scared shitless Ikikesan stumbled through the entrance, skidding to a halt in the dusty room.
That, naturally, sent up a cloud of dust around her. She began to choke on it, coughing and waving her hand to try to clear it up, her eyes watering with more then just tears of betrayal now. Her panic was sending her in a frenzy, and, coupled with the sense of dread around this site and the horrid stench from the water she had slipped and fallen into, there was only one thing she was about to do:
Get sick.
Somehow, she managed to dive out the opening and stumbled outside of the ship before she vomitted, doubled over with her hands over her stomache. And because her stomach had nothing in it, nothing was coming up but acid.
She was late, covered in something disgusting, had a nosebleed, and now her stomache hurt. Oh, and the puppy had been lying to her. Her eyes burned again and she slowly straightened up, feeling like she had been punched in the gut. She thought she had been doing something good. Now she just felt sick, dirty, and stupid.
Stumbling back, she knew she should leave and get out of here, but the shaking in her legs convinced her to sit for a moment. She made her to one of the roots and sat down, taking a deep breath then gagging on the scent in the air.
She.. needed... a shower...

It hadn't taken Shio very long to catch up to their stopping point, but she was hesitant to go much further.
Suto-mu had told her of this site and she was disinclined to venture further. She was quite surprised any Ikikesan would go anywhere near this massive grave. Such a gargantuan leech that had drained the world of life, it was impressive but also eerie.
The silvery hunter sat crouched on the edge of a cliff and she patiently waited and watched. Eventually the other would leave, she doubted that she would remain there for very long. Shio herself didn't like being as close as she was to it and it wasn't all that close to begin with. She glanced around, on the alert for even the slightest movement so she would not lose her target.
Flipping some of her extraordinarily long hair over her right shoulder, she tried to figure if this would be an Ikikesan she would remember. Or if it would be someone who would try to drag her back to the colony. 'Ha, I'd like to see them try...'

Damn, that girl was amazingly noisy. He could hear her running amok in the ship and he prayed she didn't go crashing into shit. As he headed for the way out, he could hear and eventually smell her getting sick though.
"Come now, it's not that bad!"
Well, he wasn't sure whether the smells inside, the dust, or the turn of events had made her ill but he could tell she was running on empty from what she deposited on the ground. Standing in the opening, one leg propped up, he stared at the girl before he shot off into the air.
Pepper was left alone for a little bit to get herself together before Raditz came back. The Saiyajin dropped down near her and tossed a healthy sized ram onto the ground. There was a large bundle wrapped in broad leaves which he went over to the Ikikesan and sat it down next to her before he opened it. Inside was an assortment of fruit he had managed to scavenge up from the forests nearby.
"Eat. Or whatever."
He wasn't used to having someone around and doing such a thing. Sure, he had many years under his belt with Nappa and Vegeta, but the trio had always split in their own direction on missions and took care of themselves rather than make much in the way of group effort. The maned Saiyajin gave her an amused look before he crouched down by the ram and started to tear some of the fur and skin from the meat he wanted below.
"Again, I apologize for the deception. But I wanted to come back to life in a big bad way. So I owe you a life debt, which I suppose makes us...friends." The word was kind of foreign to him. He didn't have friends. He only had allies and enemies, but nothing that remotely functioned along the line as a friend. However, it seemed the idea had meant something to her, so he would give it to her if that was what she wanted. Instead of mulling it over, he focused on prying out the meaty ribcage, unaware of observing company.

Unaware of anything outside of the lab, the lavender haired demi-Saiyan was tinkering with a new invention of his. Well, it wasn't really new, but it was improved from his grandpa's original design. The four medium sized metal cuffs were meant to be used in the gravity training room, or could be just worn outside. Trunks had made them in order to be adjustable weights, without the need to constantly put other ones on.
Buut there was just one more kink to be worked out. He had a small tool inserted between the wiring, carefully turning it in order to fix the adjuster. It was almost done, and then he could get back to training.
Suddenly there was a large flare of his father's ki accompanied with the shouting of his name. Trunks jumped very slightly and cursed as his fingers slipped, causing the one weight to short circuit. Rather than try to fix it and make his father wait, Trunks dropped everything and bolted outside where he could sense Vegeta's ki.
"What is it, dad?" Trunks saw nothing unusual outside, nor anything particular dangerous. He put his hands in his pant pockets as he waited for his dad to explain why he had called him. At least he was wearing his training clothing if he had to fly or fight or whatever, and had remembered to shed the lab coat before he left the lab.
On a whim, the teen spread his senses out and quickly felt an unknown ki. Pepper's was easy enough to tell apart from anyone as she had been living at Capsule Corp. But the unknown ki made him look at his dad, wondering what exactly he was thinking.

Before she could react or do anything, Raditz had shot into the air, leaving her alone and feeling even more miserable then before. Any thought of her maybe being his friend faded. He just abandoned her! Sniffling, she brought her hand up to scrub furiously at her mouth, ridding herself of the taste of vomit and blood. Looking around, she hunted through the grave until she found a small pool of rainwater that had collected. It wasn't the best, but it did the job. Cupping it in her hands, she splashed it on her face and rubbed again, getting rid of the last of the blood and whatnot.
It took her a full moment to decide to try to use some of the water to rinse her mouth out. Frankly, she just wanted to be out of there as soon as possible, but the taste in her mouth was killing her. Cupping her hand, she scooped some water and poured it into her mouth, swishing the stale water before she turned and spat it out, wiping her mouth off on her glove.
She just about jumped out of her skin at the return of Raditz. Pepper stared at him in surprise and wariness before blinking at the ram, then at him-
Holy crap. Food.
Pepper didn't even think about it as she sat down almost automatically. Her stomache growled and she bit her lip, watching him warily as she took a fruit, biting into it. It was fresh, and delicious, and not tainted by evil rotting yuckiness!
The fruit was gone almost instantly, and she reached for another, watching him work on skinning the animal. With her attnetion so focused on Raditz, she didn't even notice the other Ikikesan around, though there was something tingling on her senses. Right now though... she was starving.
Her green eyes watched him, sometimes flickering from light to dark and back again as she listened. It was a long moment before she finally replied, still sounding a bit hurt.
"You could have told me the truth..." In her mind, Kakiri just snarled, but she waved her away as she finished another fruit. "You... still really want to be friends though? You weren't just being mean...?" When he said that they were friends, her eyes had brightened. "I don't really have many friends... I mean, I guess I'm kinda friends with Mister Vegeta and Bulma and everyone, buuut.. I'm his student, so training's gotta come first over friendship..."
