Trunks Briefs was born in Age 766, in the month of November, during the threat of the Androids. For a small period of time, both the infant Trunks and the future teenager co-existed before the latter returned to his time. When the older boy returned to his time, he had aided the Z-Fighters in defeating the android, Cell.
For the next seven years, his loving, doting mom, and his very stern, strict dad raised Trunks. From the moment he could learn to fight, he did just that with his dad keeping a watchful gaze over him.
First World Tournament
When the World Tournament's date came closer, Trunks learned from his best friend Goten that he was going to be in it, and became determined to fight as well. During a training session with his father in the Gravity Room, Trunks quickly overcame the odds by transforming into a Super Saiyan, causing a massive shock for Vegeta. Once Vegeta found out that Goten become a Super Saiyan as well, Trunks was bribed into further training by an hour-long visit to the park and succeeded quite swiftly.
The 25th World Tournament came in no time at all for the boy, and he easily overpowered all of his opponents until his last match. In the final round, Trunks was paired off against Goten. Although both boys promised not to go Super Saiyan, they both broke their promises at different points in time, and Trunks was concluded as the new Junior champion.
Soon after, Trunks and Goten entered the adult division of the tournament together as the fighter 'Might Mask'. In reality, Mighty Mask was just one boy sitting/standing on the other boy's shoulders. They didn't make it very far, as Android 18 realized it and blew their cover causing them to be disqualified.
The Buu Saga
It wasn't too much longer until they had more fighting to do anyhow. Trunks learned of Majin Buu through Videl and rushed to try and help his father battle the monster. However, both the lavender-haired boy and Goten were knocked unconscious when Vegeta blew himself up in a failed attempt to kill the monster. The moment he woke up in Kami's Lookout, Trunks was stunned to learn that his father and Gohan were dead. After recovering form the initial shock, he was immensely angry at the monster that had caused his father's death. Goku gave Trunks a direction for his anger in the form of learning a move called the Fusion Dance with Goten. Babidi then made an announcement to the world that if Goten, Trunks and Piccolo didn't come out of hiding they were going to destroy West City. Immediately, Trunks rushed to Capsule Corporation to get the Dragon Radar while Majin Buu and Goku, in his Super Saiyan 3 form, fight.
Trunks returned as soon as he could to the Lookout with the dragon radar and showed Goku his newfound respect for the older man. Goku showed the two hybrid boys the fusion technique and Super Saiyan 3, but did not get enough time to help them master it. However, Goku left Piccolo to teach the boys the rest of the Fusion dance as his time on Earth ran out. As Fortuneteller Baba took Goku to the Other World, everyone on Kami's Lookout said their goodbyes including Trunks.
At first both of the half Saiyan-half human boys fought Majin Buu separately and then temporarily-fused together to become Gotenks, however they were quickly defeated. When Super Buu forms, the boys train in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and fuse upon the arrival of said villian and Piccolo. Once Super Buu is in the room, Gotenks attacked him in base form with a multitude of goofy moves, doing no damage. Gotenks then turned Super Saiyan and, with a powerful Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack, blew Super Buu to bits. The fused boys then followed Piccolo's orders and attempted to destroy all the pieces of Super Buu, however the vapours formed back into Super Buu.
Piccolo Jr. then asked Gotenks if he had any more special attacks left, which Gotenks falsely denied, stating that all was lost. With seemingly no options left, Piccolo Jr. destroyed the entrance, trapping them in the room forever. Super Buu, so enraged about not having access to any candy ever again in his location, let out a mighty scream, ripping the fabric between the dimensions and creating a portal through which he escaped. Unsuccessfully, the two fighters left in the dimension attempted to recreate the portal to no avail. Eventually, when there seemed to be no more options, Gotenks revealed that he had something up his sleeves and turned Super Saiyan 3.
He then quickly (and with more ease than the powered up Buu) blared open a portal which himself and Piccolo Jr. escaped from. On exiting, Super Buu boasted that he had been devouring all adult and teenager friends on the lookout, causing Gotenks to finally get serious and fight Super Buu fully. The resulting battle destroyed Kami's Lookout, leaving Piccolo Jr. despaired until he was asked by Gotenks to assist him in an attack where Super Buu was battered around like a volleyball whilst sealed inside Gotenks' Galactic Donuts. However, Gotenks reverted back to his normal form before he could finish off Super Buu and then reverted back to Trunks and Goten as the fusion wore off as well. They were now forced to wait for an hour before they could fuse once more.
Thankfully Gohan showed up to challenge Super Buu while the two boys recovered. Realizing that he could not defeat Gohan, Buu exploded and hid himself away in order to escape. The fighters soon set off to seek out Dende, and quickly found him. However, their reunion was not long as Buu showed up to attack them again. Although Gohan stepped up to finish Buu, the villain challenged Trunks and Goten to fight him as Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks. They agreed and fell into Buu's trap. The moment they became Gotenks, Buu swiftly absorbed both Gotenks and Piccolo Jr.
After being set free from Super Buu by both his father and Goku (as Vegito), Trunks was killed when Kid Buu used the Planet Burst attack and destroyed the Earth. Trunks was later revived by the Namekian Dragon Balls, and lended energy to Goku's Super Spirit Bomb along with Goten and a large group of people the two had convinced to lend a hand.
Ten Years Later
Ten years passed quickly, and Trunks was forced by Vegeta to compete in the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament but never did as it was cancelled due to the departure of Goku and Uub. Instead of mulling over it, the lavender-haired teen returned to helping his mother with the company and his normal training.[/blockquote]

PERSONALITY Trunks Brief is a boy who was, and still is, 'a chip off the old block'. He has many of the same personality traits of his father, although still retains a unique sense of person. Two of his most prominent traits from his father are the facts that he is both cocky and prideful. As a child, Trunks was a bit of a spoiled brat but as he grew older he became a lot more carefree and somewhat lazy instead of spoiled, and he still doesn't take many things seriously. He is highly mischievous, and enjoys teasing his family and friends. Nonetheless, Trunks is a very intelligent boy and enjoys tinkering with machines (a trait inherited from his maternal side). During his battles, Trunks acts much like his father in that he is both calm and insults his opponents. There are very few instances when he is fully serious during a fight, and one such match occurred between himself and Goten when they were competing against one another. |
