Name : Shio Alabasta
Partner/Mate : Suto-mu
Race : Ikikesa
Fighting Class : Hunter, slight druidic ability mostly concerning animals
Abilities :
Jump - Instead of applying her power to her speed for running, she opts instead to make massive jumps into the air, often coming down to create tiny craters in the earth. Sometimes she pulls back on the power for simplistic jumps such as when she's traversing the mountains with Suto-mu.
Cleaving Jump - Shio jumps into the air to slam down on her opponent with her two blades.
Stomping Jump - Shio jumps into the air and comes down with her foot, crushing them under her boot.
Alabaster Bow - She forms stone into a bow with which to fire concentrated ki arrows with amazing force.
Speak With Animals - Comprehend and communicate with animals, though it doesn't make them any friendlier or cooperative than normal.
Animal Growth - She makes her animal companion grow double in size.
Appearance : Standing at 5'6, Shio may look like a pale, delicate flower however her slim frame packs more punch than it lets on. As per her name, which is based on 'salt' and 'alabaster', her skin is an unblemished white and her hair is a very faint silver. Her eyes are the color of smoke.
When her hair is not in the cascading pigtails, she often styles it a number of ways such as braids, plaited buns, etc. She rarely lets it all hang freely.
Unlike most Ikikessans who wear many layers of hampering cloth, Shio wears the bare minimum. Her top is high collar, with silver loops around her neck and barely comes down far enough to cover the slight curve of her breasts. She wears tiny black short shorts with the straps holding the sheaths of her large curved daggers wrapped around her hips. Her fingerless gloves and plated boots are black in color. Besides black, white and silver...There isn't much else in the way of color on her. In the north, she often wears a multi-layered fur cloak of white, made from fox fur.
Suto-mu, her wolf companion, is roughly twice her size and also prominently silver and white in color. He has many elegant violet markings drawn on his fur in an earthy ink, all done by Shio and mostly for her amusement. He tolerates the treatment rather well.
Personality : Shio is a very independent and stubborn individual. She abhors even the idea of asking for help, thus she sometimes winds up in over her head when in a situation that is likely out of her capabilities.
She can often be considered a nice person, though she doesn't hesitate to show that being asked to aid someone annoys her. If the task is especially taxing and well out of her way, she will brush off the person in need of help and go back to what she normally does. Which is borderline nothing, but it beats being inconvenienced.
Since she is reclusive, as most of the Ikikesa are, she doesn't go out of her way to get involved or meet people. Even then, with a group of allies (maybe even friends) she tends to be quiet and uninterested, sometimes incredibly bored with what is going on which happens A LOT.
In her free time, she enjoys painting and doodling on the cave walls with coal she often washes away to draw new pictures. Her abilities to read and write are somewhat limited due to her lack of focus on any form of study.
Suto-mu is very laidback, even to the point that he ignored Shio's painting on him, and he let her due to it being a very nice paint job that made him look especially lovely anyway. He can be seen as very vain. If any of his fur is pulled out, he is bound to fly into an unbelievable fury and even go so far as to hunt down the one responsible. Besides that incredible peeve, he is quick to sarcasm and can be friendly if not on a wary, uncertain level where strangers are concerned.
Background : Shio is very much removed from the events of the world at the age of twenty-six, born in the Age 758 shortly after the exodus from Planet Spice.
At a very young age, the Ikikessan was very much a mold breaker. She was not very passive to say the least and she was never entirely embracing of many of the ways that to most were acceptable. Shio had a habit of making waves and causing unrest to the others around her and she showed little remorse for it. To her, it was her life and she would do as she felt.
At thirteen, Shio became aware of the plans which were to have her married to an Ikkikessan she was not even remotely aware even existed. Needless to say, the idea did not sit well with her even if she was unaware of all it entailed (if she did, well, the displeasure at the idea would have doubled) and shortly afterward, she fled from their community in the dark of the cold night.
She had trudged northward, honing her skills as a huntress in order to support herself. Due to her traveling across the Diablo Desert in the scalding sun and the frigid night, and later of the ice peaked mountains, she has an incredible tolerance to severe temperatures.
Times were painfully tough, she was constantly on the run from the fear of her arrangement eventually catching up to her. While traversing in the cold mountains of the north, she succumbed to her fatigue and hunger. Hours later found herself in a cave. It didn't take her long to figure out how she wound up there, as this was her first meeting with the large wolf of the north, Suto-mu.
Suto-mu proved to be surprisinly smart for an earth creature and was even capable of speech. While this was surprising to her, she idly wondered if he were truly native to the planet. In any case, he had helped her and even offered her his cave for a roof over her head, provided she help him hunt from time to time for food. Otherwise she was more than free to go, however she had no desire to.
It wasn't long before they became close companions, eventually the bond between them grew to such a point, they became mates. The pair lived contently in the mountains until the incident with Buu destroyed the world. After their revival, despite not being as close to the earth as other Ikikessans, she was stricken with malady that sometimes brings on very mild seizures. She has often considered a trek home to seek some manner of remedy, but due to her dread of possibly being dragging back into the fold, she settles for dealing with her new condition. So instead, she keeps her eye out for others that may pass by her way...
RP Sample :
The tiny, silvery doll of a girl stared intently at the wall as she listened in. Unbeknownst to her mother and the others, she could hear them. She heard them very well and the topic made her blood boil. She didn't know who Masutado was and she didn't care. She wasn't going to marry someone she didn't even know. That just made no sense to her. At all.
'Do this, do that, don't do this, don't do that, wear this, take that off, eat that, again and again.' The feeling of being confined was painful sometimes. While she was aware, mostly due to the scoldings that she got, that she was young and 'didn't know better', she didn't see why that gave them the right to dictate what she did. Yes, so she kicked that guardsman. So what? No, she didn't practice her stances. Why did she need to exactly? It wasn't like they were going to fight anyone.
With a soft growl, she lifted her hand and chewed on her thumb. She would not see this happen. No siree. 'I'm getting out of here. By the time they find out, I'll be long gone...'
