P e r s o n a l i t y Banira is a sweetheart, always caring for her friends and allies. She has a good heart, and she's always the first to come to someone's aid should they need it. She's the kind of person you can keep all your secrets with, and once you gain her loyalty, you never lose it. However, Banira isn't all happiness and helpfulness. She's very shy, and often times keeps to herself if she isn't helping someone she knows. Despite this shy, introverted exterior, Banira is actually quite the tomboy, often times being outspoken and boisterous when around the people she cares about. As it was previously stated, Banira can be extremely shy, often times not speaking with someone simply because she's afraid of how they'll treat her. One of her biggest problems is worrying about how other people see her. Part of this is because she's part of the Ikikesan Royal Bloodline, which some speculate, is the reason why she got married, even though she never really wanted to get married to whom she was married to in the first place. Those who speculated this, would in fact be correct, as Banira never really had any desire to marry a man at all. Despite this however, Banira did indeed marry a man, and did indeed perform the bonding ceremony with him. Not because she loved him, but she felt a sense of duty not only toward her people, but toward her race as a whole. It was because of this, that she chose to get married to the man she hardly knew, and had only met once before their wedding ceremony. However, after he was slain by bandits in the desert, Banira suffered from a pain in her heart that could only be described as a void. She didn't think she had cared about him this much, and blamed these feelings on the bond, as no one had ever lost their bonded mate so shortly afterward. After the planet was destroyed and then subsequently revived, Banira has began to suffer from narcolepsy. This is most probably because of the fact that for a brief time, the planet had absolutely no energy what-so-ever. However, because of this, and from the loss of her bond-mate, Banira is often times found to have no energy, and almost instantly falls asleep. This was one of the odder side effects to happen to the Ikikesan after the planet was destroyed, but most people assumed it was because of how close she was to the Gaian Mother at the time. While uncertain, this does in fact seem like a likely reason. |
B i o g r a p h y It all started thirty years ago, two years before Banira was even born. When the three Saiyajins came down to planet Spice to colonize it in the name of Lord Frieza, there wasn't much the Ikikessan race could do except flee in terror from their awesome power. As they fled to what they would eventually realize to be Earth, many of the wounded Ikikesan sadly didn't make it. This left the survivors of the ordeal, in a very small group, the brink of their race's extinction almost at hand. However, two years after this incident, Banira was born on the planet Earth. Despite their race's survival, their numbers were still extremely low, only a decent handful of newborns having been born in the past two years. In an attempt to counter this, the Elder Council of the race declared that they would begin holding arranged marriages for the Ikikesan that were coming to the ages of sixteen through nineteen. Of course, those that were older and still single, got handled first. However, after all that was said and done, it became a common place occurrence for the young adults of the ikikesan to get married off, simply as a means of keeping the race alive. Of course, with Banira being born of royal blood, she was no exception. In fact, she was an example. This however, wouldn't matter for another fifteen or so years, as Banira grew up in the palace, learning the ways of the druid, and becoming a better fighter for their times of need. It wasn't until the age of around eleven that Banira began training under the apprenticeship of the monks of the Ikikesan. These monks taught her much about fighting. However, more importantly, it taught her a lot about the Gaian Mother, or as the humans had come to call her, Mother Earth. There was a point in time that Banira had wished to be the fastest and strongest of the Ikikesan. However, as time went on, Banira's adopted sister, Sansho, proved that something like that would never happen. It was because of this, that despite continuing her training, she was never the best, often times coming in second. Because of this, Banira had begun working on her dexterity, grace, and the teachings of the Gaian Mother. It wasn't until the age of sixteen that she discovered her arranged marriage candidate. To be honest, she wasn't thrilled about it, having no interest in men what-so-ever. Each year, when she would meet with the Elders in regards to her marriage, she would always ask to postpone it a little longer, wanting more time to train, or for some other reason that was typically made up on the spot. They granted her requests because she was the princess, but on the other side of that coin, being the princess practically ensured that she would have to get bonded to serve as an example to her people. It wasn't until she was nineteen, two years after Kid Buu had destroyed the earth, that Banira had finally gotten married. Because the Earth had been destroyed, Banira's personality had become lethargic, and unengaged at best. She would often seem distant. It was because of this, that the Elders began pushing harder for her to get married, fearing that either she too might run away, as Sansho had done, or that she might be dying, in which case, they wanted more of the race to be born before they lost another one. No longer having the energy to argue, Banira had finally agreed at the age of nineteen. Before anything, Banira had demanded to get to know her mate better, before they even thought of having kids. However, after only a year and half's time, Banira finally agreed that the man wasn't so bad, even if she didn't feel anything romantically for him. Over the course of the next three years, Banira gave birth to two children; Ashitaba, a bouncing baby boy, and Paseri, an adorably cute baby girl. The two bonded mates would raise their children for the next three years, and would actually do so happily, until one night... One night, bandits had snuck into the castle, attempting to steal any valuables they could possibly find. What was worse, was the fact that they had managed to sneak so far into the palace. Once the alarm was set off, Banira and her mate had rushed to the door to see what was going on, only to see a rather large group of bandits roaming the halls. Sadly, they had been spotted by these very people, and Banira's mate told her to take the children and escape while he fought them off. Banira knew that it was a foolish thing, but at the same time, feared for her relatively newborn childrens' lives. Taking the one and two year olds, Banira escaped back, deeper into the palace, where the guard would be heavier, as it got closer to the king and queen's chambers, and throne room. However, as she set foot in the chamber, something in the back of her mind snapped, and her head jolted toward where she had come from. She didn't know how, but she knew... that her bonded mate had just died. The bandits were eventually slain, and the casualties were in fact minimal, Banira's mate being one of the only casualties. However, after he died, something had broken inside Banira, a large void where his bonded link once was. She had gotten used to it in such a short time, that even now, it felt like a part of herself was missing. To add to it, after her bonded mate was killed, and Banira would no longer be the same person, the Elders thought that it would be best if someone else raised her children, as a broken bonded mother just wouldn't be able to cut it. After this sorrow was added to the current amount, Banira began immersing herself in her monk's duties, becoming a spiritual advisor for those younger, and as a second line of defense against the city. Three years later, and we're finally at present time. With the death of her bonded, Banira can often times be found wandering the courtyards or the city proper, giving emotional support to those who have suffered the same as her, or advice to those who are to go through with the bonding ceremony soon. She often times seems out of it, and distant, as if wondering what to do next. Though this probably isn't the case, it is the feeling you get when first meeting and speaking with her. At this point in time, she really is just wondering what she should do with her life... now that everything she once had is gone... |
