| Abilities Summon Weapon - A shakujo, polearm with a blade on each end with the larger crescent blade able to separate and extend on a hidden chain for ranged attacks, can be summoned out of thin air. Divining - Somehow, and don't ask how, the two pieces of hair that hang over his head can determine where water is underground. Again, don't ask. Cone of Cold - Creates a powerful blast of cold air and water particles outward in a cone before the caster. Using the shakujo in a spinning fashion can make this ability particularly stronger. Water Breathing - Breathe underwater for up to an hour. |
| Personality On first meeting Gojyo, most people come to one of three conclusions : equal-opportunity, heartbreaking slut, obnoxious fucking button pusher or laid back, cool guy. Only a few come to know him as all three wrapped up in a self-destructive, vice indulgent fog whose company they can take or leave, depending on how tolerant they can be. When he isn't smoking, drinking, or fucking; he's gambling, fighting, or simply lazing about. Regardless of all that, his friends find him to be a dependable 'big brother' type of person despite his many flaws. He is quite vain of his good looks and his physique, often working out or he'll claim that 'ladies will cry if I don't keep my temple sculpted'. Confident about himself and his sex appeal, he's hardly shy in putting on the moves or making dirty jokes and innuendos. Primarily, he fancies women, but he has no issues with men should they peak his interest (hence why he teases Sanzo more than he really should). While he is often laid back and friendly enough, he does have a tendency to become a little emotional, especially if the wrong buttons are pushed which has anything to do with his past, his friends, or children. He doesn't take well to being made fun of or mocked and will dish it all back and more if he feels the need to. And he certainly isn't above giving someone a good ass-kicking if they're more than deserving of it. When it comes to women and children that are in a tight pinch, Gojyo will do everything he can to help. It's difficult for him to stand when a woman cries due to memories of his stepmother. With children, he is almost always kind to them and will go far out of his way to protect them, even when they appear as enemies. Because of his heritage, he is labeled almost everywhere he goes by the older generations since the younger tend to be more on the ignorant side to which he is grateful. Those who tend to recognize his nature, judge him well before they know him but he shrugs off the pain and discomfort with sly remarks and a few laughs. He doesn't let people's opinions get in his way. |
| Appearance Physically, he is in peak condition at 22 years of age despite his chain smoking ways. His lanky 6' frame isn't particularly muscular but he is built lean for speed, his long legs helping to add some 'oomph' to his movement. Unlike some of the more powerful humans to whom he is nothing really in comparison, most normal humans would be hard pressed to really stand a chance and he certainly has the potential to go far with his strength were he to realize and embrace the chances. His long lashed eyes are as blood red as his hair, a rumored sign of his half-demon nature, though much of the younger generations of Age 784 in the bigger cities shrug it off as an old wives tale. His long crimson hair reaches down past his shoulders, with two long pieces that sweep up and down looking like a pair of antennae (this results in many calling him a cockroach much to his annoyance). On his left cheek, there are two long scars that curve from just below his eye down to his jawline. He often wears a broad headband, mostly when traveling or out for extended amounts of time and usually whatever color his jacket or vest at the time is. Otherwise, he tends to go without a headband in his work clothes or his clubbing threads, which is usually tight and leather in nature. |
| Background Gojyo's father, a lesser water demon, cheated on his wife (also a lesser demon) with a human woman, thus resulting in his birth. For whatever reasons, his father had left him with his unstable wife and his son to take off with his human mistress. Whatever happened to them, neither Gojyo or his half-brother could not say, unaware that the pair had committed suicide together at some point. Growing up with his stepmother had been a hell for Gojyo, on top of the fact that the small town they lived in treated him like he was a walking ill omen. Because of her husband's infidelity and his half-breed nature, the unstable woman abused the boy no matter how hard he tried to earn her favor and give her affection. His half-brother, Jien, was always there for him though and was known to help try to minimize the abuse the half-breed had to endure. However, when the mother tried to kill Gojyo, Jien killed her to protect him. Jien left, unable to stand the pain of killing his own mother. Abandoned at a young age, Gojyo lived the punk life from town to town before eventually wandering his way to East City where he settled down for a more permanent stay. He supported himself by gambling at cards and filled the lonely void in his life with booze and women. One night, on his way home from the bar alone, he came across what seemed like a corpse. Gonou (Hakkai's past name) was severely injured and lying in the middle of the road. Without really knowing why, Gojyo helped him and took him home, tending to his wounds and letting him stay for as long as he needed to heal. When Gonou was prepared to explain himself and give his name, a priest from the newly rebuilt Orin Temple named Genjo Sanzo showed up. The pair were instantly at odds with one another and after a brief scuffle, during which Gonou fled, the priest and his monkey associate pursued the man they were looking for with Gojyo in tow. After Gonou was arrested, he returned the next day under a new name and asked to move in with Gojyo. He complied. Due to Hakkai's shared residence, the quiet man succeeded in convincing Gojyo to actually take up work with him at a restaurant called Shangri-La. It wasn't really all that bad, since the redhead was quite good at managing the bar while his roommate worked the kitchen. Sanzo and Goku (not the Saiyajin one mind you) pay them visits when the Temple priests are not entirely favorable in dealing with the monkey and his appetite. When not working, they often see the corrupt monk and his pet at the Temple or around East City, for whatever reason, unable to shake off their connection with one another. Goku and Gojyo tend to engage in childish arguments which in turn brings about Sanzo's priestly wrath with either the fan or the gun, all the while Hakkai sits back, unrelenting smile in place. In one instance when they were goofing off and play-fighting in the Temple despite the fact they were supposed to be cleaning, the pair broke a jar which they later found out had gifted them with a set of weapons. After Goku took note of his nyoi-bo and Gojyo his shakujo, they managed to make a fine mess of Sanzo's room before they set to work learning to properly wield the weapons. (Gojyo had been more than ready to hand it back, but that was until he learned that it would mean he would have to die to do so since the weapons stay with their masters until death.) Of the group, Gojyo is most at odds with the priest and goes well out of his way to tease the uptight man and pick fights. The kappa tends to push the blonde's buttons until the gun is aimed in his direction. Even if Gojyo tends to really work his nerves, the priest still enlists Hakkai and the kappa to assist him at the Orin Temple or to even accompany him to West City when summons from the other temple come his way. |

Just make sure you've watched some Saiyuki and/or done your research, and it has to be DBZ adapted. DBZ Goku and Saiyuki Goku are to be treated as two different people (and yes, I am aware that they are painfully similiar but they're still two different people) and I'll let the person making whoever figure out what to do there. lulz |
